Adds a full-screen 550C boot intro to the DeepSeek Harness client, covering DSH's own loading card, with simple/full modes, four phosphor color schemes and instant skip.

dsh-550c-boot is a DSH plugin that adds a full-screen 550C intro to the DeepSeek Harness client, so every launch opens with a terminal-style animation. It fixes the bare startup where the harness shows its own loading card: the first frame is injected by the host half during document parsing, so HARNESS / Loading plugins… never appears, and the animation fades out only after it finishes. It offers a ~4-second simple mode, a ~16-second full mode and an off mode, supports skipping by clicking the screen or pressing Esc, and ships four phosphor palettes — amber, P1 green, cold cyan and P4 white/gray — with the native desktop window buttons recolored to match.

What Does It Do?

550C Boot Splash is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that plays a full-screen 550C boot intro every time the client starts. It solves the problem of the harness showing its own loading card and a bare startup: the first frame is injected by the host half during document parsing, so HARNESS / Loading plugins… never appears. The animation fades out only after it finishes, revealing the real interface, and can be skipped at any time. It is maintained by yannicksong0106 under the MIT license, with the original animation by Voidpoket.

Core Features

  • Two modes: a simple ~4-second mode that writes the 550C logo path by path, and a full ~16-second mode running logo → base station takes over the terminal → 47 nodes overwritten point by point → SYSTEM IS REWRITTEN, plus an off mode that plays nothing.
  • Skip anytime: in full mode, click the screen or press Esc to skip the intro.
  • Covers the host loading card: the first frame is injected by the host half during document parsing and holds the screen with the animation's own background color.
  • Four phosphor color schemes: amber (default, the original CRT palette), P1 green, cold cyan, and P4 white/gray; the three native desktop window buttons are recolored to match.
  • Persistent preference: the mode switch is stored in browser localStorage, consistent with other third-party settings rows.

How to Use This Plugin?

After enabling it in DSH, the mode switch lives under Settings → General → 550C boot animation, with a Preview button next to it to watch it immediately. The default is the simple mode; switch to full for the complete intro, or off to disable it. It plays on every client load, including page refreshes; playing only once per session is deliberately not implemented. The plugin requires DSH version 0.2.0-rc.1 or higher and can only cover the screen after the Web UI has loaded, not before the first Electron window frame. On macOS the top strip belongs to window dragging during playback, so click elsewhere or press Esc to skip.

How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?

If you still see the old animation after upgrading or reinstalling, the client bundle's aggressive caching is the cause — do a hard refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R. If you install on a host below 0.2.0-rc.1, the install succeeds but later in-app updates are rejected with a 412, so follow the official instructions for the version requirement.
