scientificfigurelibrary: A Scientific Figure Template Library for DeepSeek Harness
xuzhougeng/scientificfigurelibrary
Scientific Figure Library is a local-first DSH plugin that imports scientific figures with their code into an on-disk library, reviews and publishes immutable releases, then reuses the exact template across projects.
scientificfigurelibrary gathers scattered scientific plotting code into one template library kept on your local disk, solving the problem of redrawing the same figure in every new project. Through an import, review, and immutable-release flow, every template stays traceable and can later be materialized into any project, keeping one plotting style across projects. As a DSH plugin it never executes plotting code and contains no second model, leaving hashing, versioning, gating, and publishing to itself while the host agent inspects files.

What Does It Do?
Scientific Figure Library is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that turns scattered scientific plotting code into one reusable, on-disk template library. It solves the problem of redrawing the same figure in every new project: you import a figure together with its code, review it, publish an immutable Release, and later materialize that exact template wherever you need it. The library lives in a directory you choose, and nothing is copied into a project until you confirm a materialization. The server never executes plotting code and contains no second model — the host agent inspects files while the plugin hashes, versions, gates, and publishes them.
Core Features
- Local-first library: figures and their code stay in a disk directory you pick, and are not copied into projects without confirmation.
- Import, review, publish flow: bring in a figure and its code, review them, then publish an immutable Release so every template stays traceable.
- Exact template reuse: after finding one specific template, materialize it into a project to keep plotting style consistent across projects.
- Ordered retrieval: search runs through Local Published, FigureYa, Open Figure Modules, and enabled personal providers, with Local Published always the source of truth for your own figures.
- Cross-host reuse: the same library works in Claude Science, Wisp Science, Codex, Cursor, Pi, and DSH over stdio MCP.
- No code execution: the plugin only hashes, versions, gates, and publishes, leaving file inspection to the host agent.
How to Use This Plugin?
Enable it in the DSH web profile and restart, after which the bundle registers the Skill and mounts the MCP client. On first use, call the skill and source-status tools; if setup is required, bind one global Library directory and, when needed, a Local workspace before searching. The everyday flow is: search your local published library in the MCP App, confirm one exact template, then materialize it into the target project. Do not add a second MCP entry for a local SFL app, since that duplicates tools. The plugin is maintained by xuzhougeng under the MIT license, with the repository last updated in 2026-09.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
- Search returns nothing: check that the global Library directory and Local workspace are bound, since searching does not start without them.
- A bundled catalog looks empty: after an authorized redaction a bundled source may hold zero releases; that is a healthy empty source, not a failure, and default search continues across other providers.
- Tools appear duplicated: if you already configured an MCP entry for a local SFL app, do not add a second one, as duplicate entries duplicate tools.
- Cloned source will not start: the repository does not ship build output, so a plain clone cannot start MCP; follow the official instructions and use the published installation path instead.
