A DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin that compresses each agent reply into a single result card: one conclusion plus collapsed blocks for confirmations, key data, output files, suggestions and risks — parsed locally from a format contract, with no extra model call.

dsh-focus-brief is a DSH plugin that adds a result-card reading layer to DeepSeek Harness. It targets the familiar problem of long, flat agent answers where the conclusion is buried mid-text, decisions you must make are scattered at the end, and produced files are mixed into prose. Rather than asking the model to summarize again, it writes what matters into the answer format contract the model already produces and parses it locally against the same spec with no extra model call. Once installed, a Focus tab appears in the session title bar with one card per turn: a single conclusion plus five collapsed blocks for needs-your-confirmation, key data, produced files, conclusions and suggestions, and risk alerts, along with a collapsed highlight card in the normal conversation view.

What Does It Do?

Focus Brief is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that compresses each agent reply into a single result card: one conclusion plus several collapsed information blocks. It solves the problem of long, flat answers where the conclusion is buried mid-text, decisions you must make are scattered at the end, and produced files are mixed into prose, forcing you to either read everything or miss something. Instead of asking the model to summarize again, it writes "what matters" into the answer format contract the model already produces, and parses it locally against the same spec with no extra model call. It is maintained by shunshoudesi under the Apache-2.0 license and was last updated on 2026-10-11.

Core Features

  • Result-card projection: every reply renders as one conclusion (click to swap back to the full text) plus five blocks — needs your confirmation, key data, produced files, conclusions and suggestions, and risk alerts — with the skeleton hard-coded locally and content filled by the model under one shared contract.
  • Two seats: a "Focus" tab appears next to the official Conversation and Trace tabs for a full-page card per turn, while the normal conversation view shows a collapsed one-line highlight card under each reply with the contract title and counts of points and pending confirmations, both reading the same parse result.
  • Three-level expansion: the stack is collapsed by default with "needs your confirmation" always first; expanding only spreads out the title rows, and unopened content never enters the DOM; opening one block reveals only that block.
  • Overflow folding: blocks with more items than the preview count offer "N more ›" and "show first M" toggling plus a "collapse this block" action.
  • Real data sources: produced files, status, and tool-call counts come from actual session events rather than model restatement; it only reads session events and the system prompt, never workspace files, with no network requests and no telemetry.
  • Zero runtime dependencies: it uses only the official session projection, slots, locale service, and react, and supports both the web and desktop profiles.

How to Use This Plugin?

After enabling it in DSH and restarting, a "Focus" tab appears beside the official Conversation and Trace tabs in the session title bar, where you can browse result cards turn by turn. You do not need to switch views during normal chat: the highlight card under each reply shows the contract title and counts of points and pending confirmations, and opening it reveals the points and the questions asked of you, with a one-click return to Conversation. To inspect a detail, expand the stack of title rows first, then open the relevant block; blocks with many items use the bottom buttons to toggle between "N more" and "show first M". The contract depends on the model complying voluntarily, so a turn where the model ignores it degrades to a title, one conclusion, and the full answer — nothing is lost, only the blocks are missing, which is expected when viewing older turns written before the contract was issued. Tool-call timelines stay in the official Trace view, and the card keeps only counts such as the number of tool calls.

How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?

If a card degrades to just a title, one conclusion, and the full answer, that turn's model did not follow the contract or followed it imprecisely; this is a known limitation and no information is lost, only the blocks are absent. Changes to the host half require restarting DSH to load the projection, contract, and parser, while client-half-only changes just need a page refresh. Anomalies on pre-release versions other than 0.2.0-rc.2 fall outside the verified range, and the projection and seat APIs need realignment when the host moves to a major version. Attachment images are not rendered because the client seat cannot access the attachment rendering interface, so image-only turns leave a placeholder marker.
