dsh-combo: Combo Counting and Effect Feedback for DeepSeek Harness
quentincrane/dsh-combo
A PowerMode-style combo HUD for DeepSeek Harness Web and Desktop that counts thinking and tool-call rounds per turn, with a countdown, four effects and live customization.
dsh-combo is a DSH plugin that turns each round of model thinking and tool calls inside DeepSeek Harness into a visible combo. During long tasks it is hard to tell how far an agent has actually progressed, so it puts that progress right on the interface through an incrementing counter and tiered effects, resetting at a turn boundary or switching to an idle timeout. Beyond counting, it offers sound, a per-session pin, and a live configuration section on the Plugins page, where every setting is saved into the profile and applied at once without a restart or reload. Maintained by QuentinCrane under the MIT license, it runs in DSH Web and DSH Desktop.

What Does It Do?
Combo is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that turns each round of model thinking and tool calls into a visible combo counter with tiered effects. It solves the problem of not knowing how much work an agent has done during a long task: every completed model round or committed tool call adds one, and the counter resets at a turn boundary. Maintained by QuentinCrane under the MIT license, it runs in DSH Web and DSH Desktop without adding anything to model requests or contacting third-party services.
Core Features
- Combo counting: reads the Host's session projection and only counts completed model rounds and committed tool calls, so tool results and unrelated events never inflate the number.
- Tiered visual feedback: shows the latest thinking or tool activity, switches effect tiers by combo count, and optionally plays sound.
- Turn-based or idle timeout: resets the counter per turn by default, or set expireMs to opt into an idle timeout instead.
- Per-session pin: pins the current combo so a streak can carry across turns, with pin state kept in the client page's local storage.
- Live configuration page: ships its own configuration section on the Plugins page, where sound, volume, starting combo and every other setting are saved into the profile and applied immediately with no restart or page reload.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling it in DSH, just chat and call tools as usual; the HUD accumulates combos for each model round and tool call and plays the matching effect. To change the look, open Plugins in the sidebar, select the bundle, and edit the configuration section — saving writes to the profile and takes effect right away. The HUD's own gear panel is a per-browser quick tune that previews changes locally only; restoring defaults drops those local overrides and returns to the configured values. Use the per-session pin when you want a streak to survive into later turns.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
If no combo effect appears after installation, first check that you installed into the profile you are actually using — Web and Desktop have separate profiles, and installing into the wrong one has no effect. Desktop users should launch the app once to initialize its profile, fully quit it, then install and reopen the app. If you changed package files, restart the profile as described in the official guide unless its HMR setup has already applied the change.
This page is an independent rewrite of the plugin's official README — for authoritative documentation and the latest changes, refer to the source: quentincrane/dsh-combo. The plugin is third-party code that runs on your machine once installed; inclusion does not imply endorsement — please review the source before installing.
