dsh-aide: A DSH plugin that layers a VS Code-style local IDE onto DeepSeek Harness
prismscopes/dsh-aide
AIDE layers a VS Code-style local IDE onto DeepSeek Harness, combining Monaco editing, file explorer, search, Git and a terminal alongside the DSH chat panel.
dsh-aide is a DSH plugin that brings a VS Code-style development environment into DeepSeek Harness, so writing code and talking to the model no longer happen in two separate windows. It targets the friction of switching back and forth between an editor and a chat by gathering the explorer, Monaco editor, search and replace, Git workflow, multi-session terminal and the right-hand chat panel into one workbench. It mounts through DSH UI extension points without replacing the existing layout, follows the DSH theme, and restores expanded folders, panel layout and previously open file tabs per workspace after a refresh or restart.

What Does It Do?
AIDE is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that layers a VS Code-style local IDE on top of the harness. It solves the friction of jumping between a chat and an editor by putting the explorer, Monaco editor, search, Git, terminal and the DSH conversation into one workbench. Maintained by PrismScopes under the MIT license and written in TypeScript, it mounts through DSH UI extension points without replacing the existing layout.
Core Features
- Unified workbench: the left view, center editor, bottom terminal and right DSH chat panel show and resize independently, with draggable splitters and double-click to reset.
- Full file experience: a lazy-loaded tree supports create, upload, drag-and-drop, rename and delete; text, Markdown, images, PDF and Word documents open directly, and Markdown previews source, outline and relative links.
- Visual Git workflow: staging, commits, branches, diffs and a swimlane commit graph that opens as its own editor tab, with search, branch filtering, checkout, cherry-pick and revert.
- Search and replace: case, whole-word, regex and path filters, results grouped by file with highlighted hits, single or replace-all with case preservation, and the last search kept across sessions.
- Multi-session terminal: built on node-pty and xterm with up to 8 sessions, renaming, split view and Ctrl+C; collapsing and reopening the panel does not rebuild or replay output.
- DSH-aware editing: selecting text adds a DeepSeek Harness submenu at the top of the context menu, inserting explain, fix, refactor or test-generation prompts into the chat input for you to review before sending.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling it in DSH, the workbench appears as a VS Code-style interface; open a file from the explorer on the left to start editing. Saves use atomic writes with version checks to prevent silent overwrites, and closing a tab or returning to DSH with unsaved changes shows the same save dialog as VS Code. Inline completion offers ghost-text suggestions that can be accepted by line, by word or whole, with the model route chosen from DSH's configured models in the AIDE settings section. After a refresh or restart, the plugin restores the active view, expanded folders, panel layout and previously open file tabs per workspace.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
Host-side inline completion code loads only at process start, so restart the application after changes; the client side only needs a page refresh. Files that fail to save stay in place with an error, and returning to DSH is blocked while any save has failed, so resolve the issue before leaving.
