dsh-persona-shaoxin: An Editable Markdown Persona for DeepSeek Harness
mycatqiezi/dsh-persona-shaoxin
A DSH plugin that mounts the "shaoxin" persona onto DeepSeek Harness: the persona lives in six Markdown files, and edits take effect on save without restarting.
dsh-persona-shaoxin is a DSH plugin that splits the persona block of the system prompt into Markdown files you can edit directly, so changing a persona no longer means changing code. It removes the restart step: a file watcher with 150ms debounce remounts the section automatically, and the next message already uses the new settings. The persona spans six files for behavior rules, identity, user profile, a line library, long-term memory, and environment notes, with project-level overrides and a mount-time template syntax scan that warns before a session breaks.

What Does It Do?
Shaoxin Persona (dsh-persona-shaoxin) is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that turns a persona block in the system prompt into plain Markdown files you can edit directly. It removes the friction of changing a persona through code and restarting the harness, letting you rewrite lines inside DSH and have them take effect on save. The persona itself is split into six files covering behavior rules, identity, user profile, a line library, long-term memory, and environment notes.
Core Features
- File-driven persona: the persona lives in Markdown rather than code, with six files for rules, identity, user, lines, memory, and tools.
- Edit-and-go: a file watcher with 150ms debounce remounts the section automatically, so the next message already uses the new persona without restarting dsh.
- Line library: LINES.md ships signature lines, four fill-in-the-blank sentence templates, a universal word-swap table, and counter-examples, so changing the product grows a new script.
- Project-level override: same-named files inside a project override the global ones, while anything missing still falls back to global settings.
- Safety guard: template syntax is scanned at mount time and warned about, preventing strict interpolation of unregistered variables from killing the session.
- Zero build: pure JavaScript ESM with no TypeScript and no build script, so it installs without extra build authorization.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling it in DSH, copy the six persona files into the global persona directory, then open LINES.md and edit the line you want to change; it takes effect about 150ms after saving. To have it write a script, just ask, for example for a 45-second Shaoxin-style short drama selling hand-sewn shoe soles, and it returns an entrance hook, pressure, a twist, and a screenshot-worthy closing line. Pacing is governed by SOUL.md: every reply follows a six-beat rhythm of hook, pressure, escalation, counterattack, and a lingering hook with no tidy ending, and single sentences stay under 15 characters. To soften the persona, drop LINES.md; to intensify it, order it before SOUL.md. Placement order, truncation limit, and file watching are set in the config layer, and disk reads are limited to Markdown files under the persona directories, with no writes, no network requests, and no registered tools.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
If a template syntax warning appears at mount time, the persona files use a variable form that gets strictly interpolated; rewrite those placeholders into a form that is not parsed. If the persona does not seem to apply, first check that the files sit in the correct persona directory and whether file watching was turned off, since with watching disabled the files are read only once at load and need a reload to update. If a section name conflict is reported, check whether the slot name was changed to one the prompt registry uses itself, and restore the default slot name.
