dsh-timer-agent: A Scheduled Task and AI Agent Engine for DeepSeek Harness
louishaol/dsh-timer-agent
A DSH plugin: host-resident scheduled-jobs engine that fires real agent sessions via cron, supporting pinned sessions, project workdir, and default workspace, with timer_agent tool and web panel.
dsh-timer-agent is a scheduled task plugin for DeepSeek Harness that combines cron scheduling with an AI agent engine, enabling DSH to automatically run real agent sessions at specified times to execute predefined prompts. It solves the problem of manual task triggering and lack of scheduled automation. Core capabilities include 5-field cron scheduling, session pinning, project workdir targeting, and task management via the timer_agent tool and a web GUI.

What Does It Do?
dsh-timer-agent is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that combines cron scheduling with an AI agent engine, enabling the harness to automatically run real agent sessions at specified times to execute predefined prompts. It solves the problem of manual task triggering and lack of scheduled automation. Core capabilities include 5-field cron scheduling, session pinning, project workdir targeting, and task management via the timer_agent tool and a web GUI.
Core Features
- Scheduled execution: supports 5-field cron (minute hour day month weekday) with presets (daily at 09:00, hourly, etc.), firing real agent sessions on time.
- Target selection: pick an existing session (pinned conversation) or create a new one in a project directory (auto-loads AGENTS.md), or use the default workspace.
- Task panel: web sidebar "Scheduled Tasks" panel with list, search, details, execution history, run now, reset, and delete.
- Model tool: call the
timer_agenttool directly in conversations to create, list, update, pause, resume, archive, restart, remove, or run tasks. - Plain command tasks: execute specified commands and arguments without AI, recording stdout/stderr tail and exit code, suitable for scripts.
- Security: API routes are loopback-only, task store uses atomic writes and degrades gracefully on corruption.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling the plugin in DSH and restarting dsh web, the "Scheduled Tasks" entry appears in the sidebar. You can create tasks via the web panel or the timer_agent tool in conversations: specify a cron expression, choose a target session or project directory, and provide the prompt to execute. At the scheduled time, the plugin launches an agent session to run the task, and the result (success/failure) is recorded in the store. For plain command tasks, just fill in the command and arguments; no API quota is consumed.
