deepseek-tui: A Terminal Workspace UI for DeepSeek Harness
hilbert-beinghappy/deepseek-tui
SeekTTY is a pluggable terminal workspace for DeepSeek Harness, integrating native Agent, Session, model, and permission services in the terminal, with /clarify and /plan workflows.
deepseek-tui is a terminal UI plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) that integrates Agent, Session, model, permission, Settings, Profile, plugin, and persistence services into one terminal workspace. It provides visual interaction in pure command-line environments, letting you run the deepseek command from a project directory to use full DSH capabilities without leaving the terminal. SeekTTY automatically discovers models, tools, MCP servers, and more, and supports an optional Clarify workflow and a safe update mechanism.

What Does It Do?
SeekTTY is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that provides a terminal workspace for the harness, integrating native Agent, Session, model, permission, Settings, Profile, plugin, and persistence services into one terminal UI. It solves the problem of lacking a visual interface in pure command-line environments, letting you run deepseek from a project directory to use full DSH capabilities without leaving the terminal. SeekTTY acts as the terminal surface while Harness remains the owner of runtime state, and it discovers models, providers, Agent presets, permissions, commands, tools, Settings, Skills, MCP servers, and marketplace sources from the running Harness, so capabilities added by upstream or third-party Bundles appear without being hard-coded.
Core Features
- Terminal workspace: run
deepseekfrom a project directory to use DSH's native Agent, Session, model, permission, Settings, Profile, plugin, and persistence services. - Dynamic capability discovery: automatically fetches models, providers, Agent presets, permissions, commands, tools, Settings, Skills, MCP servers, and marketplace sources from the running Harness, no hard-coding needed.
- Optional Clarify workflow: guided
/clarifyasks focused questions, updates a reviewable Draft after each answer, and returns the accepted Draft to the composer, which can then be turned into an implementation plan with/plan. - Improved mouse navigation and input editing: lists keep their viewport, mouse actions work at startup, clipboard editing and Ctrl+Z undo are supported, and context menus are independent of the page stack.
- Safe update mechanism:
deepseek --updatechecks SeekTTY first, installs at most one compatible component per run, never blocks startup, and supportsSEEKTTY_UPDATEenvironment variable to control check behavior.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling SeekTTY in DSH, run the deepseek command from a project directory to launch the terminal workspace. Common launch forms include deepseek "check this project", deepseek --cwd ../project, deepseek --resume to resume a session, deepseek --profile team-tui to specify a profile, and deepseek --version and deepseek --update. The deepseek command requires dsh on PATH or DSH_BIN pointing to its executable. For requirements that still need definition, use the optional Clarify plugin: it asks focused questions, updates a reviewable Draft after each answer, and returns the accepted Draft to the composer, which can then be turned into an implementation plan with /plan. SeekTTY 1.2.4 improves mouse navigation and input editing, and no Settings or Session migration is required.
