dsh-whale-widget: A Balance Whale Widget for DeepSeek Harness
ggxx001/dsh-whale-widget
A DSH plugin that pins a whale widget to the bottom-right of the DSH web UI, showing DeepSeek balance, today's spend and per-turn cost with fully customizable bubbles.
dsh-whale-widget is a small whale that lives in the bottom-right corner of the DeepSeek Harness web interface, gathering your DeepSeek API balance, today's spend, and per-turn conversation cost onto one clickable character. It addresses the difficulty of tracking where your budget goes: balance drops accumulate as observed spend while top-ups and bonus credits are logged separately, with no session token needed. Clicking the whale pops a sequence of bubbles you compose yourself, mixing text, random sentences, images, balance figures, and peak/off-peak status by row, with weighted parallel choices, per-module fonts and colors, sound alerts, and four-edge snapping with mirror flipping.

What Does It Do?
The Whale Balance Widget is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that places a small whale in the bottom-right corner of the DSH web interface and shows your DeepSeek API balance, today's spend, and the cost of each conversation turn. It solves the problem of not knowing where your DeepSeek budget goes: balance drops are accumulated as observed spend, while top-ups and bonus credits are recorded separately, with no session token required. Its core capabilities include automatic balance refresh with rolling-number animation, peak/off-peak pricing hints, a fully customizable bubble click sequence, and interaction details such as sound effects, edge snapping, and mirror flipping.
Core Features
- Balance and bookkeeping: refreshes the balance every 60 seconds and on whale click, animates number changes, accumulates today's spend from observed balance drops, records top-ups and bonus credits separately with a pending-adjustment notice, keeps per-turn details for 90 days and daily archives for 365 days.
- Per-turn cost: listens to local DSH session events, converts real model usage (input, cache, output, reasoning tokens) into money, and pops a cost bubble after each turn, with an on/off switch and configurable auto-close seconds.
- Peak/off-peak pricing: marks weekday peak hours 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00 Beijing time, treats the rest as off-peak, and offers status text, countdown, and several display styles.
- Custom bubble system: bubbles are built from rows of modules such as text, links, weighted random sentences, images or GIFs, weighted random images, total balance, bonus, recharge balance, today's spend, peak/off-peak status, and conversation name, with parallel weighted choices, per-module fonts and colors, marquee gradients, and drag-and-drop layout.
- Interaction and appearance: four-edge snap zones configurable by ratio or pixels, horizontal mirror flip when snapped left, a squishy press effect, a hideable menu button, and touch dragging plus long-press reordering on mobile.
- Sound and alerts: press sounds, per-turn cost alerts, question alerts, and authorization alerts each have their own toggle and volume, and panel edits stay in memory until you click save.
How to Use This Plugin?
Once enabled in the DSH web interface, the whale appears in the bottom-right corner whenever the page opens; clicking it refreshes the balance and pops your configured bubbles in sequence. To change bubble content, open the main menu and go to the custom bubble window, where you can add, remove, and reorder the click sequence, pair two bubbles as weighted A/B choices, and adjust fonts and colors per module before saving. Edit the per-turn cost text under sound and alerts, global settings, per-turn cost alert, and edit alert content, referencing the amount with a placeholder. Snapping and flipping live under the menu's snap and flip section; top snapping defaults to 0, meaning off, so set the top value above zero and confirm to enable it.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
If the balance number stops updating, first check that a DeepSeek API key is configured in DSH credentials or that you are signed in under settings and account balance; brief network hiccups reuse the last known balance instead of raising an error. When a balance increase is detected, a pending balance adjustment notice appears, and you can correct it under the whale bookkeeping section's built-in DeepSeek settings and balance correction using the actual credited amount. If top snapping does not work, the top value is probably still 0; set it above zero as described in the official instructions, and enlarge the top snap zone for large widgets.
