dsh-image-compare: A Side-by-Side Multi-Image Comparison Panel for DeepSeek Harness
chordxd/dsh-image-compare
Adds an image viewer panel to the DeepSeek Harness sidebar for side-by-side comparison of 1/2/3/4/6 images per page, with group-synced zoom and pan, and no image bytes entering model context.
dsh-image-compare adds a multi-image comparison panel to the DeepSeek Harness right sidebar, replacing one-by-one opening and back-and-forth scrolling with true side-by-side viewing. It fits 1/2/3/4/6 images per page, lets each image zoom and pan independently, and can push the selected image's zoom and viewed position onto the whole set so every image rests on the same piece of content and fine differences actually line up. You can browse the workspace inside the panel — local files for local sessions, remote files for SSH sessions — and the model can publish a group of images straight to the sidebar. Images are for human eyes only and never enter the model context.

What Does It Do?
It is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that turns the right sidebar into an image viewer panel for comparing several images side by side. It solves the pain of opening screenshots one by one and flipping back and forth when you want to check a before/after pair or compare several design options inside the harness. Its core abilities include showing 1/2/3/4/6 images per page, per-image zoom and pan, syncing one image's zoom and viewed position onto the whole set, and reordering images by dragging thumbnails. Image bytes never enter the model context.
Core Features
- Side-by-side comparison: shows 1/2/3/4/6 images per page (2 by default) in either a horizontal or vertical arrangement, so you compare directly instead of scrolling back and forth.
- Whole-set sync: applies the selected image's zoom and viewed position to every image at once, so each one rests on the same piece of content and fine details actually line up.
- Per-image zoom and pan: zoom ranges from 0.1x to 8x, double-click toggles between magnified and fit, middle-drag pans, and holding Shift pans the whole set together.
- Reordering and paging: drag the bottom thumbnail strip to change order, and page through with the wheel, arrow keys, or the previous/next buttons, one page per wheel notch.
- In-panel workspace browsing: navigate parent directories, edit the path box, refresh, and select multiple files to open together; local sessions list local files and SSH sessions list remote ones, with clear messages when a path is out of bounds, not an image, or missing.
- Model-published image sets: the model can call a tool to publish a group of images straight to the right panel with a title and layout, up to 60 images at a time, resolving relative paths against the session working directory.
How to Use This Plugin?
After enabling it in DSH and restarting, open the right sidebar's launch page and pick the image viewer entry; the panel then appears as a persistent tab. The panel has three sections: a queue with open and clear buttons on top, the image area filling the remaining height in the middle, and a resizable directory browser at the bottom. Tick the images you want in the browser (ticking only queues them), drag the divider to enlarge the directory area if needed, then click open to show the first image and drag the bottom thumbnails to change the comparison order. While comparing, click an image to select it, zoom with Ctrl/Cmd plus the wheel, pan with a middle-drag, and click sync-all to bring every other image to the same spot; alternatively let the model call the tool to publish a set to the panel and click the sidebar button on the card to continue there. The gear settings let you adjust default zoom, images per page, whether the thumbnail strip starts expanded, viewer font size, and the minimum height of a single image.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
When a path cannot be read, the panel reports the specific reason — out of bounds, not an image, or not found — instead of showing a broken image, so you can switch paths or files accordingly. If a build script is blocked by the package manager during a GitHub install, add the printed build-allowance key to the matching profile configuration as described in the official instructions and run it again.
