dsh-telegram-bot: Bringing DeepSeek Harness Sessions into Telegram Topics
boobaw/dsh-telegram-bot
A DSH plugin that bridges DeepSeek Harness sessions into Telegram DM topics, with per-session topics, streamed answers, approval buttons, structured questions and session controls.
dsh-telegram-bot is a DSH plugin that moves DeepSeek Harness agent sessions into Telegram direct-message topics. It targets the case where you are away from your desk but still want to follow an agent task: sending an ordinary text message in a session topic starts a turn in that session and streams the reply back. The plugin also adds tool approval buttons, structured questions, a per-topic panel for model and effort, and a set of session commands so the agent stays fully operable from a phone.

What Does It Do?
Telegram Bot is a DSH plugin for DeepSeek Harness that bridges DSH agent sessions into Telegram direct-message topics. It solves the problem of following an agent task while away from the desktop: you send an ordinary text message in a session topic and the plugin starts a DSH agent turn in that session, streaming the assistant reply back as text arrives. Maintained by Boobaw under the MIT license, it is configured from the Harness Web UI under Settings → Telegram and adds allowlists, approval buttons, structured questions and per-topic session controls.
Core Features
- Session topic bridge: the All topic stays global as the management hub, while every DSH session gets its own topic where plain messages trigger agent turns.
- Streaming answers with mirrored progress: the assistant answer is the first message and updates in place, followed by a rolling reasoning block and tool-call list that are deleted once the answer is ready.
- Approvals and structured questions: tool approval requests appear as styled prompts with Deny and Allow inline buttons, and ask_user_question requests render with option buttons, multi-select, custom answers and plan-review choices.
- Session control panel: a 2×2 inline panel in each topic switches Model (Flash/Pro), Effort (off/low/high/max) and Mode (permission preset), and shows context window, last request usage and cache-hit percentage.
- Credentials and allowlists: the bot token is stored through the credential seam and never written to the settings file, while allowed users and allowed chats are limited by user IDs or @usernames and chat IDs or @channelnames.
- Commands and recovery: /sessions, /stop, /status, /current, /menu, /rename, /last, /restart, /id and /ping are available, with /last replaying recent answers after switching between Web and Telegram.
How to Use This Plugin?
Open Settings → Telegram in the DSH Web UI, enter the bot token plus allowed users and chats, turn on the Enable bot toggle, then send /start to the bot in Telegram. In the All topic, use /sessions to pick a workspace and create or open a session; that session continues in its own topic. To change the model, effort or permission mode, open the inline control panel inside the topic. Threaded mode must be enabled in BotFather under Bot Settings before DM topics work, and bot messages default to English with a Russian option in settings.
How to Troubleshoot This Plugin?
If session topics are not created or messages are not routed per topic, first confirm that Threaded mode is enabled in BotFather under Bot Settings, which DM topics require. If the bot does not respond, check that the Enable bot toggle is on and that the allowed users and allowed chats lists include the current account or chat; after changing settings, use Restart bot to reapply them and restart long polling. Turning off the bundle switch on the Plugins page unmounts the runtime and aborts polling, so it must be switched back on to recover.
